We use Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC conduit buried to the required depth (typically 18 inches for residential) with properly rated underground feeder (UF) cable or individual THWN conductors. All underground runs include pull strings for future wire additions and are marked with warning tape above the conduit to prevent accidental digging damage.
